RUSSIA – new bottle plant capable of producing more than 250 million bottles per year
Russia’s OST group, one of the country’s biggest beverage producers, has built a new bottle plant in the town of Electrostal in the Moscow district. Centre piece of the new factory is a large SORG end-fired furnace.
The new plant currently has one furnace with a maximum melting capacity of 260 t/24h. The furnace is an end-fired regenerative unit with a melting area of 125 m², and is heated with natural gas. An electrical booster is already installed in preparation for a capacity increase of 100 t/24h, that is currently at the planning stage.
The installation includes a SORG STW distribution channel with a total length of 19 m. Three production lines are currently fed by the furnace.
The range of SORG equipment supplied for this important project includes all of the major items of equipment for furnace and distribution channel. The batch house was designed and supplied by Sorg Group Company EME.
The furnace produces flint glass, that is used to manufacture exclusive vodka bottles, for which a very high glass quality is required.
