T E C H N O L O G Y
We have a proven track record of continual development of conventional technology at the highest level and SORG technology has dominated the glass industry for more than 40 years. SORG developments include :
large regenerative end-fired furnaces – the first, built in 1971, had a melting area of 76 m², the latest is almost exactly twice as big with a melting area of 151 m²
the DEEP REFINER®, a SORG development (first patent application 1974) that has become an industry standard
equipment specially designed for the difficult operating conditions in the glass industry
O U R T E A M
Our experienced technical team can advise customers on all aspects of glass melting and conditioning. The technical team:
consists of more than 90 persons, including 38 people in the design office
includes experienced back-up for each position so there is no absolute reliance on single individuals
also provides customer support for concept development, glass technology and system operation
C O R E C O M P E T E N C E
We specialise in glass melting and conditioning technologies. Our experienced engineers and technologists provide a range of key functions to assist customers during the complete project, from idea to implementation. These functions include:
concept development including mathematical modelling – we run an average of 120 – 140 models per year
engineering – our technical team handle the design, engineering and equipment specification for more than 30 furnaces per year on average
service – we have more than 20 persons continually involved in service work on customer premises throughout the world
