SORG Group Wins Two-Furnace Deal with HEINZ-GLAS

SORG Group is celebrating two modernisation contracts for melting furnaces at the HEINZ-GLAS plant in Działdowo in Poland.

Both HEINZ-GLAS’ fully electric VSM® Melter and Regenerative Endport Furnace need reconstruction and long-standing partner SORG Group has been chosen for the two projects.

All three companies under the SORG umbrella – EME, Nikolaus Sorg and SKS – are involved.

EME’s role includes extensions and modernisations of the cullet systems for both plants, as well as modernising the control systems for the batch house and cullet return systems.

Meanwhile, Nikolaus Sorg is responsible for the engineering, equipment parts and services for the reconstructions, with the work on the VSM® Melter including expansion of the melting surface.

SKS, supported by a specialist team from SORG Polska, is taking charge of the complete service package for the two furnaces, from draining to heating up and filling. As well as demolition, the work includes steel deliveries, adjustments and refractory construction.

Sebastian Woltz, Sales Director Nikolaus SORG, says: “We’re so proud HEINZ-GLAS has again placed trust in our expertise and capabilities. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership.”

HEINZ-GLAS is one of the world’s leading glass packaging manufacturers for the perfume and cosmetics industries.
