SORG Group Successfully Completes the Reconstruction of Furnace 1 for Bangkok Glass Industries at the Prachinburi Plant

After more than 17 years of operation, the time had come. The furnace built by SORG for Prachinburi Glass Industry Company Limited (PGI) in 2008 was due for reconstruction.

As part of the engineering work for the reconstruction, Nikolaus SORG revised the complete furnace design, bringing the furnace up to the current state of the art in furnace technology.

The focus of the revision was the increase of the melting capacity from 180 tpd to 215 tpd, the longevity of the furnace, increasing energy efficiency and reducing emissions.

SORG supplied the necessary equipment for the reconstruction of the regenerative endport furnace with a melting area of approximately 65m2 for the production of flint containers, including a new boosting system consisting of a melting and barrier booster, as well as a SORG STW working end. The batch is now fed by two CPO 400D feeding machines from EME, a company of the SORG Group.

The installation of the equipment, the assembly of the furnace steel and the refractory material, including heating, filling and commissioning of the furnace, was supervised by the service specialists from Nikolaus SORG and SKS.

The SORG Group would like to express gratitude for the renewed trust in the capabilities of the SORG Group and the excellent cooperation with the PGI team. We wish you a long and successful furnace campaign.
