Rubin Glass has commissioned a third furnace at its site in Pleven, Bulgaria. The project follows the successful installation of two previous SORG furnaces at the same location.
The new unit is a gas-fired regenerative endport furnace with a melting surface of approximately 92 m². It is designed for the production of soda-lime container glass in flint, amber and green colours. The furnace is equipped with the SORG Deep Refiner® and features a complete electrical heating system, including melting booster, barrier booster and throat booster. The scope of supply also included the waste gas system, additional furnace equipment and the SCADA system.
Nikolaus SORG was responsible for the furnace design, engineering, supply and commissioning. Installation and commissioning were carried out by SORG specialists.
EME provided the engineering and supply of the batch plant, including two EME-NEND 2® batch chargers, along with installation supervision.
The steel and refractory construction, heating-up and full melting of the furnace were performed by SKS.
The inauguration ceremony was held on site and attended by representatives from the SORG Group, including Alexander Sorg, Thorsten Christ and Kevin Amrhein and Florian Ehrenfels.
The SORG Group would like to thank Rubin Glass for their continued trust and professional cooperation throughout the project.
