SORG Polska has introduced the SPL-SCOOPA batch charger for glass furnace operations.
Standing for Swivelling Charger Oscillating Oscillating Pusher Automatic, the SPL-SCOOPA further expands the portfolio of SORG and EME.
Ideal for speciality and container glass plants, ten SPL-SCOOPA batch chargers are currently in production – six units for customers in India, one unit heading for Saudi Arabia, one unit for a customer in Ukraine, and two units for installations in Poland.
Providing glass manufacturers with an additional solution for controlled and efficient furnace charging, the SPL-SCOOPA feeds batch material — the raw mix and cullet — into the melting furnace doghouse in a uniform pattern.
The batch from the furnace silo is transported directly or via a vibrating chute into the hopper of the oscillating feeder, with other transport methods possible. An integrated level sensor ensures the feed is automatically shut off when necessary.
The oscillating pusher distributes the batch evenly across the glass surface inside the doghouse of the furnace. The amount of batch being fed through can easily be regulated using the control system with a frequency inverter.
All the components of the SPL-SCOOPA exposed to high temperatures are water-cooled, ensuring reliable operation in demanding furnace environments.
With the introduction of the SPL-SCOOPA, the SORG Group and EME now offer 10 types of batch charger, a comprehensive equipment portfolio for the glass industry.
